Commissioning a bespoke piece is not like ordering from a menu. It's the beginning of a dialogue. An idea, a story, or a moment takes shape through discussion and listening, until it becomes a unique porcelain jewel, created just for you.
Each month I take on only a limited number of custom commissions, as individual projects require time, listening, and the same silent presence I dedicate to every piece in the collection.

How it works. Step by step
You don't need to have a clear idea to start. All you need is a starting point. We'll figure out the rest together.
First step
Tell me your idea
Fill out the form on the contact page or write to contact@crisalidestudio.com with a description of your idea. A perfect brief is not necessary: just the starting point. A reference, an occasion, a color, a feeling.
Second step
We compare notes
If the idea is feasible, you will be contacted again to discuss it further. Email or a brief call: you decide the format. We will determine together what is possible, the timelines, and the budget.
Third step
I propose a project
After the call, we proceed with a 20% down payment to start the creation process. I'll prepare a proposal: sketch, color palette, materials, and final quote. Usually within 5-7 days.
Fourth step
The piece is taking shape
Shaping, drying, bisque firing, glazing, glost firing, gold luster finishing. This is where your idea finally takes shape.
Last step
Comes to your house
Before shipping, you'll receive photos of the finished jewel for your approval. The final balance is requested at this stage. Then, complete Crisalide packaging and tracked courier delivery.

Absolutely, in fact, it's often the best starting point. You don't need to arrive with a detailed brief. An intention, an occasion, a color, a feeling is enough. We'll start from there together.
Yes, but with some distinctions. If the idea is a variation on something existing (colors, sizes, combinations), the process is quicker. However, if you want something completely new, it will take longer and cost more. It's not always possible, but it's always worth asking.
The starting point is always the price of the most similar piece already in the collection, with an additional charge for the extra design work. We always define it together before proceeding, no surprises.
It depends on the type of commission and the time available. The realistic minimum times are: 3 weeks for simple customizations, 5-6 weeks for new combinations, 8-10 weeks for completely original projects. Write us the date in the form and we will evaluate it together.
Absolutely, it's one of the best use cases. You can coordinate the project phase yourself and surprise the recipient with the result. We ship with complete Crisalide packaging and can include a handwritten card with your message.
